For job seekers

Kick-start your career with a no-cost industry-recognized certification

As a graduate from a bioscience, biotechnology or science-related career technology program you’ve worked hard to complete your studies and prepare for your career. Now make it easier for leading employers to find and hire you, with the no-cost Biocom Institute Technician Certification (BioTC).

The first certification of its kind, the industry-recognized BioTC gives you a competitive edge as you enter the job market with:

  • Opportunities to interview with actively hiring bioscience and biotechnology employers.
  • Instant differentiation from other candidates competing for the same positions.
  • A digital badge that demonstrates your readiness as an entry-level manufacturing technician.
  • Access to no-cost job-placement and career services.
  • A pathway to a high-growth career working with a leading Life Science innovator.

How to earn your BioTC digital badge.

To earn the BioTC, graduates must complete and pass a free online assessment exam administered by Los Angeles Mission College. This two-hour exam covers a broad range of fundamental knowledge and competencies employers are looking for in entry-level manufacturing technicians. Here are your next steps.

1. Register for the assessment exam* and select your exam date.

2. Complete the exam*, including 120 questions covering multiple industry-relevant subjects.**

Students who achieve a score of 70% or higher on the assessment exam are issued a recognized digital certification badge for inclusion on resumes, CVs, and other platforms. Exam scores are available immediately after exam completion.

Students who score below 70% have the option to retake the free exam up to two times. For exam retakes and help, contact biotcvjc@glendaleca.gov.
